Mission & Outreach  

At First Christian Church, we believe faith is lived out through loving action. Through our mission and outreach efforts, we joyfully support ministries and organizations that reflect Christ’s compassion, meet real needs in our community, and extend God’s love beyond our walls.

Who we support

  • Delivers nutritious meals and friendly visits to homebound seniors.

  • This group meets to discuss and plan our church’s commitment to supporting the work of the National Campbell Cooperative, whose mission is to preserve and promote the Campbell Farm for our shared history to inspire a new generation. Our goals are the full repair and maintenance of the Campbell property (Bethany, West Virginia), to create programming for pilgrimages and learning service groups, and to offer educational opportunities about Alexander Campbell for DOC congregations.

  • Provides food, shelter, and essential resources to individuals and families facing hardship in Walker County.

  • Offers safe, supportive programs and mentorship to empower young people.

  • Trains volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the foster care system.

Whether preserving the rich heritage of our Disciples of Christ tradition, serving vulnerable families and seniors, mentoring young people, or advocating for children in crisis, our partnerships make a meaningful difference right here in Walker County and beyond.
